Heroes of Might and Magic RPG announced

Some time ago the Heroes of Might and Magic was announced, and now it looks like there will be a roleplaying game as well. As every right thinking individual knows, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is the greatest computer game ever made. So, it is a little exciting, that there will now be both a board game and a tabe top role playing game.

I am not sure my group will ever try this game out, but I will definitely take a look at it and see if it is worh spending time on.

New books day

Actually, it is old books day, because we are talking about used books here.

I was playing D&D last night and my DM had some old Forgotten Realms books that he didn’t want anymore. And what do you know he gave them to me.

Of course, they are not in the best condition, considering they are old an used, but I still think they will make a nice addition to my ever growing library. The two books I got was The Cleric Quintet, collectors edition and Death of the Dragon. I do have a couple of books I have read before I start these, but with a little luck they will be my Fall 2024 project.

The greatest YoutTube video ever made

Mr. Welch is one of my favorite YouTubers. In celebration of the 50th anniversary he managed to unite the who’s who of D&D YouTubers in a celebration of D&D.

Mr. Welch has never produced a bad video, but this one is out of the world. Behold, the greates YouTube video.

Using Vecna

I think there some people out there, who don’t like the stories told in 5th edition D&D. If you are old enough, you can see how some of the releases are just regugitated versions of better products.

That being said, the 5th edition designers are not afraid you using what is at their disposal, including Vecna. Personally, I think you have to be very careful using these mega characters too much, as the mystery surrounding them diasppears. Wizards do not see it that way based on what I have seen about Vecna: The Eve of Ruin.

I am not going to buy this book, but I will keep my eye on Professor Dungeon Master to see if he posts about sales figures as he sometimes does.

Project Avatar moving ahead

As I rambled about in a previous post, I am tryimg to get my filthy hands on The Avatar Trilogy. Since it is out of print, it is not an easy task, or perhaps I should say that I didn’t expect it to be easy, but so far it has been pretty straight forward.

I have gotten confirmation that all three books are on their way. Two of them are shipped from Germany and one from the US, so it will probably be a while before I see any of them. With a little luck, the arrival will coincide with me finishing the Icewind Dale Trilogy.

Shadowdale just arrived. Happy days.

Tantrass just arrived and it seems like Waterdeep is stuck in customs

Waterdeep arrived from the US. Ir is in really bad condition, but at least now I have the whole Avatar Trilogy. Victory!

Before and after – yes I am that guy

I found a bidon from Tour of Denmark when I was out walking. And it turns out I am the guy who will pick it up and bring home and clean it. Not only that, I will actually post a before and after photo on my blog.

I am pretty sure it wasn’t used Mathieu Van der Poel, but it depends on how you tell the story I guess.

    What to read next?

I am almost done with my current book Angels of Attack, so it is time to start thinking about the next book. I have been looking to read some fantasy, but most of them are out of print and the next Dragonlance novel is still a couple og months away.

Thankfully I realized that I have The Icewind Dale trilogy, and I have only read it once in my life. So, staying true to my new found interest in the Forgotten Realms, I have now found my next book.

If I remember correctly, this was the first trilogy written my R.A Salvatore featuring Drizzt, so it might make sense to follow up with the Dark Elf trilogy. See, I am planning ahead.
