Raistlin battling Fistandantilus is such an epic scene. I always wanted to know more about Fistandantilus but there are only tidbits here and there. It is probably better that we don’t know much about him since it makes him a lot more mysterious. I always thought Raistlin was the ultimate winner of this fight. Jeff Easley is at his best here in my humble opinion. One of the absolute greats in the D&D art world. There has been a great debate whether or not Raistlin was trapped in the abyss after he prevented the Queen of Darkness from entering Krynn. I always thought he was granted peace in death, but this art work by Clyde Caldwell is nothing less than stunning. The look of defiance on Raistlin’s face shows that he may be caught, but he has not lost yet.
